Post-Op Recovery Equipment in Windsor, NS

The first days after orthopaedic surgery set the tone for your entire recovery. A splint that doesn’t immobilize the joint correctly, crutches adjusted to the wrong height, or a missing cold therapy unit can mean unnecessary pain, swelling, and delayed healing.

Trevor brings over six years of experience as an Orthopaedic Surgical Representative, which means he understands exactly what your surgeon expects from your post-operative support. That background translates into fittings that align with surgical protocols — not guesswork from a general retail catalogue.

Performance Orthopaedic Bracing serves patients across the Annapolis Valley, South Shore, HRM, Truro  and Surrounding Areas from our clinic at 117 Wentworth Road in Windsor, Nova Scotia.

Post-Op Recovery Products We Fit and Supply

Post-Operative Splinting

Rigid and semi-rigid splints protect surgical sites on the knee, ankle, wrist, elbow, and shoulder during the critical early healing phase. Each splint is selected and adjusted based on your specific procedure, so you get the immobilization your surgeon prescribed without unnecessary bulk or pressure points.

Crutches — Properly Sized and Adjusted

Incorrectly fitted crutches cause underarm nerve compression, wrist strain, and falls. Every pair we issue is measured to your height and arm length, with hands-on instruction on safe gait patterns. That five-minute fitting can prevent weeks of secondary pain.

Knee Scooters

For patients who struggle with crutch stability – particularly after foot, ankle, or lower-leg surgery – a knee scooter offers a safer, more comfortable alternative. We adjust handlebar height, knee pad position, and brake tension before you leave the clinic, so you can move through your home and workplace with confidence. Purchase and rental options available.

Cold Therapy Units & TENS Units

Controlled cold therapy helps reduce post-surgical swelling and manage pain without relying solely on medication. A cold therapy unit delivers consistent, targeted cooling to the surgical area, which means less inflammation and a more comfortable recovery compared to improvised ice packs. A TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) machine is a portable, drug-free, battery-operated device that uses low-voltage electrical currents to relieve pain. It stimulates nerves to block pain signals from reaching the brain and boosts endorphins, making it effective for acute and chronic conditions like arthritis, back pain, and muscle soreness.

Trevor reviews your surgical protocol and physical measurements to select the correct splint, mobility aid, or cold therapy unit. Nothing is generic — every item is matched to your procedure and body.

Professional Fitting and Instruction

Each piece of equipment is adjusted on-site. You’ll receive clear guidance on how to use it safely, how long to wear or apply it, and what signs to watch for during recovery.

Insurance Coordination

Direct billing is now available. We'll contact your insurance provider on your behalf to verify your coverage, so you can focus on your recovery instead of administrative tasks.

Worried About Getting the Wrong Equipment?

That fear stops here. Every fitting is guided by real surgical knowledge — not retail sales targets. Trevor’s background as an Orthopaedic Surgical Representative means he’s seen these procedures from the operating room side and understands what proper postoperative support looks like in practice.

If your equipment needs adjustment as your recovery progresses, come back to the clinic. Post-surgical swelling changes over the first few weeks, and your splint or brace may need to be modified. That follow-up attention is part of the service.

Your Surgery Date Is Set — Let’s Get Your Recovery Ready

Don’t wait until the day after surgery to figure out your equipment. Contact us now to arrange your post-op splint, crutches, knee scooter, cold therapy unit or TENS unit.
